Plastic Surgery Consult Process

Located in Raleigh, North Carolina serving patients in Raleigh, Cary and Durham NC.

Welcome to Blue Water Plastic Surgery! The decision to undergo plastic surgery is a personal and transformative one. Our consultation process is designed to guide you through every step, ensuring you feel informed, supported, and confident in your decision.

INITIAL PHONE CONSULTATION

To start the consultation process, simply give us a call or text at (919) 739-3910, or you can fill out our online form to begin.

The consultation process begins with an email or phone call to our office with one of our Patient Care Coordinators so that we can better understand your goals. As Dr. Law’s Patient Coordinators, we will listen and speak with you about how our practice can best help you achieve your desired outcome. During your initial phone consultation with our Patient Coordinator, we can discuss your goals and give you average price ranges for the procedures that are of interest to you. If you have a specific time frame in mind for surgery, please let one of our coordinators know as we are always happy to try and accommodate scheduling requests.

Our Patient Care Coordinators are well equipped to answer most questions about surgery, the process, fees and any other questions you may have.

SCHEDULING YOUR CONSULTATION WITH DR. LAW

After we learn more about you and your aesthetic goals, the next step is to speak with Dr. Law in person or via telehealth consultation depending on your location.

Dr. Law requires a consultation with all patients before performing their surgery. Should you elect to have a consultation with Dr. Law, the appointment will be all about you. Dr. Law’s approach to cosmetic plastic surgery is to evaluate each patient individually and to create a customized surgical plan specifically designed to help achieve your goals.

During this consultation, a Patient Care Coordinator will be with you for the duration of the appointment. You may also bring a friend or loved one if you wish. When your surgeon arrives, you will first discuss some goals, and share a little bit about your lifestyle before the physical examination begins.

The physical examination, depending on the desired procedure, may include requesting you to pull back your hair, disrobing privately, or marking with removable ink to see where incisions will be made. During this portion of your consultation, you will be made aware of where, for example, face lift or neck lift scars will be hidden, or how long to wear compression garment after chin lipo.

At the conclusion of the meeting with Dr. Law, you will meet with your PCC. We will present you with the cost for your plastic surgery procedure, and we will help you to find a time to schedule surgery if you’d like to do so.

IS THERE A CONSULTATION FEE?

Many plastic surgeons who offer complimentary appointments actually pass you off to a “cosmetic consultant” or patient coordinator, or they may spend only a few minutes with you.

Dr. Law schedules a large block of time, generally 30 minutes to 1 hour for each prospective patient, and will always take as much time as you need to discuss your desired outcomes and your concerns. There is usually a variety of surgical options available, each involving different costs, risks, recoveries, scars, and results.

It is Dr. Law’s goal to explore these issues as thoroughly as possible, so that you can make a truly informed choice about what you want done. Whether you have your surgery at The Plastic Surgery Center or not, you will be sure to leave with a dramatically enhanced understanding of your situation and possible aesthetic outcomes.

DO YOU ACCOMMODATE OUT OF TOWN PATIENTS?

If you are traveling from out of town for surgery, rest assured that our office is experienced in coordinating surgeries for patients traveling to see us and we strive to make the experience pleasant and convenient.

If you need help with travel arrangements, we can provide complete support as well. We understand this is a big decision and we look forward to speaking with you to help you learn more about Michael Law MD, our safe certified facility and focus on patient care.

Out-of-state patients will typically stay in Raleigh anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, depending on the type of cosmetic surgery. We try to minimize your travel expenses by allowing our patients to return home in sometimes as few as two days after surgery with follow-up appointments via telephone.

If you are from out of town and unable to travel ahead of time for an in-person consultation, we can arrange a private telehealth consultation with Dr. Law. If you decide to schedule surgery, we will see you the day before surgery so that Dr. Law can examine you in person and confirm the surgical plan.

SURGERY AT THE PLASTIC SURGERY CENTER

Dr. Law has been in practice for over 20 years and his 10 years of formal surgical training amounts to twice that of some plastic surgeons. His medical training took place at some of the most prestigious medical universities in the world, including UCLA, USC and Emory University where he graduated second in his class and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha.

Our extraordinary team of medical professionals hand-picked by Dr. Law will provide you with exceptional care before and after surgery. You will feel safe and cared for by our friendly well-trained nursing staff. Patients regularly comment that they feel as if the nursing team is with them every step of the way. A board-certified MD anesthesiologist will remain at your bedside for the entire procedure, providing the highest possible level of safety and comfort.

Privacy is a significant consideration for our local, regional and international patients. The Plastic Surgery Center is a first-floor facility, accredited by both The Joint Commission (JCAHO) and AAAASF. We are accustomed to seeing many high-profile patients before and after surgery. Our private entrances and waiting area create an environment where discerning patients may avoid public entrances, lobbies, elevators and parking areas.

If you are considering cosmetic surgery with Dr. Law and live out of town, please call the office at (919) 256-0900 or email us at info@michaellawmd.com to find out more.
